Jeanne and Frank Lishia originally began rescuing dogs over 18 years ago through a Scottish Terrier breed club. Since that time, with the help of their volunteers, they have rescued over 1200 dogs in the Greater Washington DC area. In 2022, 75 pure bred Scotties and 10 other dogs were rescued incurring $68,000 in vet bills, roughly $800/dog.
MASTER was founded in January of 2014 as an independent, non profit rescue organization. Our charter is not limited to scotties, it includes any breed of dog with no where else to go.
Our organization is managed by talented volunteers who love dogs of all breeds.
Because of MASTER, Scotties and other breeds in need will receive the love and attention they deserve. MASTER is committed to insuring that all dogs that come into our care receive suitable medical care and the opportunity to be placed in a caring, loving home. These dogs need us to repair their health and faith in humanity and we need your support to continue to be there for dogs when there is nowhere else for them to go.

Jeanne and Frank Lishia, the founders of our non profit dog rescue organization, MASTER, are also experienced realtors who serve home Buyers and Sellers. A portion of the profit they make from their real estate business goes to care for the dogs that our group rescues. In addition, they also specialize in helping families with pets meet their real estate needs.
